Welcome to the Time And Place Website :
Time and Place is a charity set up by a group of driving instructors
and a Road Safety Officer in the Forest of Dean
In 2005, 19 young people were killed on
the Forest roads!
We aim to give young drivers a
thought provoking presentation about choices they can make when driving
a vehicle and the tragic consequences of making the wrong ones.
To achieve this we
use:
Hard-hitting video clips of road
accidents
An informative talk from
a road safety officer about the consequences of drinking & driving,
using a mobile phone and driving at excessive speed
We believe that:
We will reduce the number of deaths
and injuries amongst our young drivers
We will reach as many
students as possible
We will make very young
children aware of the need for road safety
We will build a
driver education centre
We want Gloucestershire, and particularly
the Forest Of Dean, to improve all aspects of driving standards by
having the best road education facility in the country. We have had the
full backing of local MP Mark Harper and several business people who are
supporting us in this project.
So far we have presented to over 30,000
young people at local schools and colleges and all have had a very
favourable response.
The
Driver Education Centre will
benefit all road users, young, old, cyclists, motorcyclists, pedestrians and drivers
